Avoid false prophets

Matthew 7:15  "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

Matthew 24:24  For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

God's GREAT GIFT

 

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.   John 3:16-18

 

Fear not -- GOOD NEWS !!

And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. And the angel said to them, "Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger." Light of the world

John 8:12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
2Corinthians 4:3-4 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.   In their case the god of this world (Satan) has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Three Biblical trees

Take refuge

  How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.   Psalm 36:7

Watch

For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left. Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.  Matthew 24:38-42




 

Constant Thanksgiving

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.  1Thessalonians 5:16-18 
A Psalm for giving thanks. Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! Wisdom

Psalm 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!

        1Corinthians 1:23-24   but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block  to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.
 

Find rest in the Lord

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."   Matthew 11:28-30

Jesus is The Way

John 14:6   Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 3:5  Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

 

Matthew 7:13-14  "Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.  For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

He is coming in the clouds

Mark 13:26  And then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.

         Ezekiel 30:3  For the day is near, the day of the LORD is near; it will be a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations.

But we are to -- FEAR NOT!

The right thing to do....

James 4:17   So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.        
Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

One God One Way

John 1:18   No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known.John 5:44   How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?

A New Creation

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39  

Fruits of the Spirit

   Galatians 5:22-23  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Mark 11:22   And Jesus answered them, "Have faith in God.

Romans 5:1-5  Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

Acknowledge God

Isaiah 33:13
Hear, you who are far off, what I have done; and you who are near, acknowledge my might.
Isaiah 63:16  For you are our Father, though Abraham does not know us, and Israel does not acknowledge us; you, O LORD, are our Father, our Redeemer from of old is your name.
Matthew 10:32-33  So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven,
but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.

Trust in the Wings of the Lord

Psalm 36:7   How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings. 

Psalm 57:1  Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by.

Psalm 61:4 Let me dwell in your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings! Selah.

Psalm 63:7  for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy.

  

The Great Commandment -- God does not make suggestions

Matthew 22:36-40   "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?"
  And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. ...
  And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
  On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets."          John 14:15 "If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

Heavenly Food

     Matthew 26:26-28  Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, "Take, eat; this is my body."   And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, "Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. 
  John 6:27 Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal."               John 6:51-58 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. Trust

Isaiah 12:2   "Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the LORD GOD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation."

 Proverbs 3:5  Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.         Isaiah 26:4  Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.  



       

Listen

Proverbs 19:20 Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.

 

Isaiah 42:23 Who among you will give ear to this, will attend and listen for the time to come?

 

Jeremiah 12:17 But if any nation will not listen, then I will utterly pluck it up and destroy it, declares the LORD."

 

John 9:31 We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him.

 

John 10:16 And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.

 

1John 4:6 We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

Wings Like Eagles

Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.    Isaiah 40:30-31
 

Hear -- The Lord our God is one Lord

Deuteronomy 6:4 "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.  Malachi 2:10 Have we not all one Father? Has not one God created us? Why then are we faithless to one another, profaning the covenant of our fathers?  Malachi 2:15  Did he not make them one, with a portion of the Spirit in their union? Create in me a clean heart

Psalm 51:10-12   Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

Rejoice During Persecution

The Word of the Lord will last forever

         The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.   Isaiah 40:8
