                                                    The Parable of the Ten Virgins

Matthew 25:1-13  “Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. 
2  Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. 
3  For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, 
4  but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps. 
5  As the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept. 
6  But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ 
7  Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. 
8  And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 
9  But the wise answered, saying, ‘Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.’ 
10  And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. 
11  Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open to us.’ 
12  But he answered, ‘Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ 
13  Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour. 

Pray for ALL People/ Be Thankful

PRAY FOR ALL PEOPLE

1 Timothy 2:1-4  First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 

2  for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3  This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4  who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 

Render unto Caesar

Matthew 22:17-21  Tell us, then, what you think. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”
18  But Jesus, aware of their malice, said, “Why put me to the test, you hypocrites? 
19  Show me the coin for the tax.” And they brought him a denarius. 
20  And Jesus said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?” 
21  They said, “Caesar's.” Then he said to them, “Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.

What does God require?

Micah 6:6  “With what shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before God on high? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?
7  Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?”
8  He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

                                                                    The Beatitudes

Matthew 5:2-12  And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying: 
3  “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 
4  “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. 
5  “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. 
6  “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. 
7  “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. 
8  “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. 
9  “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. 
10  “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 
11  “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 
12  Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
